What The Local has to offer

From the Farm

The South West is choc full of amazing farms providing all the fresh meat, fish and veg we could need, and with this in mind we continue to support the local businesses as much as possible! For this reason our menu is regulary changing to make use of all the new and seasonal ingredients. Each cut of meat is hung to reach its optimum level of maturity.

Grill Works

Due to our continued efforts to source locally we enjoy a great selection of readily available meat choices. For this reason we are constantly looking for new and inventive dishes to create. A great choice of steaks such as West Country Strip loin and rump cut to size by us as chosen by you, all topped off with mushrooms, onions, chips and a gratan tomato – then why not add a sauce, such as Peppered, Diane or Red wine?

Our House Special flagship 20 oz Mixed Grill is served with saute garlic mushrooms, beer battered onion rings, petit pois, egg, chips and our provincial gratan tomato. Grilled Loin of pork stuffed with cheese and smoked ham sat on a bed of celeriac mash and greens and finished with a dijon mustard sauce. Fillet Rossini sat on croute with our house made course pate and coated with a Madeira sauce.

The Local’s shish marinated skewers, served with a summer salad grilled cherry tomato and a balsamic glaze. Grilled Chicken breast on a nest of asparagus wrapped in a Black Forest Parma ham and finished with a summer berry compote.

Local suppliers such as West Country Fruits and Kingfisher of Brixham all supply us with the same level of quality, resulting in some truly epic results that go straight to our tables.

The catch of the day, which is exactly that featuring fish such as Turbot, whole Plaice and Sea Bass

Cod and chips, just cant beat the classic – Available with our house beer batter or simply steamed

Seabass on a bed of buttery Samphire and finished with a lemon butter

Whole lemon sole simple baked and finished with lemon and capers

Calamari with a summer salad and a zingy lemon mayonnaise

Mussel and clam marinara

Blackened Salmon steak with poached zucinni and orange glaze

Mussel, razor clam and langoustine chowder

We also cook every meal fresh to order so that you get it at its best, this does however mean at busy periods there may be a wait, but we promise our team will be as quick as they can, and it will be worth it!

We operate a fresh cook policy, and have strived to insure that most of our receipies, and indeed menu choices, can be adapted…. a little obsessive, maybe, but we have found that not being able to go out for food with friends because of poor or little choices should definitely be a thing of the Past!
